Nawab Malik's son, daughter-in-law booked for using fake documents for visa application

The ED had arrested Nawab Malik in February last year in an alleged money laundering case

The Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against former Maharashtra minister and jailed senior NCP leader Nawab Malik's son Faraz Malik and the latter's second wife Hamleen for allegedly furnishing fake documents with their visa applications.

The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Mumbai, during the scrutiny, found the documents submitted by Faraz Malik and his wife Hamleen were fake.

The FRRO subsequently informed the Kurla police station.

The FIR was registered against Faraz Malik and his wife under Sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Foreigners Act.

“The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Nawab Malik’s son Faraz Malik for fake documents made for visa application for his second wife Hamleen, who is a French resident,” BJP leader Mohit Kamboj said.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Nawab Malik on March 3 last year in connection with a money laundering probe vis-a-vis property deals linked to the activities of Pakistan-based underworld don and the mastermind of 1993 serial blasts Dawood Ibrahim.

Before his arrest, there were exchanges of allegations between Malik and Kamboj after the arrest of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and a series of allegations against Sameer Wankhede, the then Director of Mumbai Zonal Office of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
