<p>Amid reports of a Sharad Pawar-Amit Shah secret meeting in Ahmedabad, the Maharashtra NCP on Sunday described the news as baseless but added that the NCP supremo’s relationship cuts across party lines.</p>.<p>“Nothing of this sort (has happened)…it is baseless,” NCP chief spokesperson and Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik said.</p>.<p>Meanwhile, close Pawar aide and state Housing Minister Dr Jitendra Awhad said that for the last 15 months some people are day-dreaming.</p>.<p><strong>Read | <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/national/some-people-in-delhi-preparing-to-form-upa-ii-claims-raut-966752.html">Some people in Delhi preparing to form UPA-II, claims Raut </a></strong></p>.<p>“Pawar saheb is a senior leader…he enjoyed a good relationship with several people and had visited their homes,” he said and gave the examples of former Prime Ministers Chandrashekhar (Janata Dal) and Atal Bihari Vajpayee (BJP), CPI (M) leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Chairman and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, former Orissa Chief Minister Biju Patnaik and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.</p>.<p>“His friendship cuts across party lines and he is a Rajya Sabha member,” he said.</p>.<p>The NCP reaction comes after the reports of the meeting of Pawar and Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah, the latter said, “everything can’t be made public.”</p>
