Rachakonda Cyber Crime police on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old youth belonging to Thiruvuru of Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh for making derogatory comments on the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, and also Hero Vijay Devarakonda a native of the state and for promoting enmity between the Telugu states.

The accused Thagaram Naveen alias Chanti of Tiruvuru reportedly made the video using TikTok App, in which he abused KCR, Vijay and Telangana. His comments were found to be inflammatory with potential to create regional enmity.

The video, in which Naveen was heard saying, “People of Telangana need us they cannot do anything without us. You didn't have proper education, jobs and we gave you everything. You wanted a separate state. Added to all this is your chief minister KCR with a funny nose", has gone viral on social media platforms including Facebook and WhatsApp.

V Ram Narasimha Goud, president of the students’ wing of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) lodged a complaint with the police. The cybercrimes wing registered a case under Indian Penal Code section 153 (A) (promoting enmity between groups) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

"This is a case of promoting enmity between the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by making a video and using highly derogatory language that defames the chief minister and the people of Telangana, and thus promoting enmity between the people of two states”, Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat.

Naveen, a degree first-year student, recently attended a birthday party where he recorded the objectionable content with ‘Tik Tok’ App and uploaded. He was produced before the court which further remanded him in judicial custody.
