In Pics | India's Covid-19 vaccination drive: 'Tika Utsav' Day 1

UPDATED : Apr 11 2021, 16:44 IST

Asserting that the 'Tika Utsav', a vaccination drive between April 11 and 14, marks the beginning of the second big war on Covid-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 11 made several suggestions to people on tackling the virus and urged them to focus on personal and social hygiene. The mass vaccination drive aims to inoculate maximum number of eligible people against the coronavirus amid a surge in cases.

To curb the spread of coronavirus, the Karnataka government has ordered night curfew in select cities of the state from  April 10, and ending on April 20. The curfew order calls for a halt of public movement between 10 pm and 5 am.

The 'Corona Curfew' was announced by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday in seven cities — Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Udupi, Kalaburagi and Bidar — and Manipal town.
