The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case on Wednesday recovered two bikes in Kunigal reportedly used to execute the crime.

Based on inputs provided by H L Suresh, who hails from Herur, a team led by CPI Raju visited the houses where Suresh’s family members resided at Kuvempunagar and at Herur and recovered a TVS XL moped and a Hero Honda Splendor bike, the CPI said.

Suresh is charged with providing shelter to Parashuram Waghmare, who reportedly pulled the trigger, killing the journalist outside her house.

The SIT has claimed that he had reportedly destroyed the evidence by burning the clothes that Waghmare and Ganesh Miskin, one of the accused, were wearing, when they reportedly killed her. He reportedly destroyed the helmets they were wearing, a few days after the murder.
