Apple sets date for WWDC 2021 event

Cupertino-based technology major Apple announced to host the new edition of the annual World Wide Developers Conference(WWDC) later this year in June.

Apple WWDC 2021 is slated to kick off on June 7 and conclude on 11. With Covid-19 still prevalent in most parts of the world, the company has decided to webcast the programme online.

Like previous years, WWDC will see the announcement on the latest developments in iOS, watchOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS. Registered developers will also get access to the beta version of the software to try out apps and also send feedback to Apple to weed out the bugs for efficient and smooth operations on Apple devices.

Apple's new announcements during WWDC 2021 include keynote and State of the Union stages, online sessions, 1:1 labs offering technical guidance, and new ways for developers to interact with Apple engineers and designers to learn about the latest frameworks and technologies.

"We love bringing our developers together each year at WWDC to learn about our latest technologies and to connect them with Apple engineers. We are working to make WWDC21 our biggest and best yet, and are excited to offer Apple developers new tools to support them as they create apps that change the way we live, work, and play,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing.

Also, the company is accepting submissions from children for the 'Swift Student Challenge' to showcase their coding skills.

Besides the development of software, Apple may also announce new hardware products most probably M1 silicon-powered new iMac.
