OnePlus Watch, OnePlus 9 series launching on March 23: Key features expected in upcoming devices

After weeks of teasing, OnePlus is all geared up to unveil the brand new line of the OnePlus 9 series along with the company's first-ever smart wearable OnePlus Watch on March 23.

OnePlus 9: Everything we know

Already, OnePlus has confirmed that the new OnePlus 9 will come in three variants-- a top-end OnePlus 9 Pro, a standard OnePlus 9 and an affordable OnePlus 9R.

First up, the OnePlus 9 Pro is said to feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, quad-camera Hasselblad module (with 50MP + 48MP+8MP 2MP) on the back, 16MP front snapper, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage and a 5,000mAh battery with Warp fast charging capability.

The standard OnePlus 9 is said to come with a 6.55-inch screen, triple-camera Hasselblad module- 48MP + 48MP + 8MP on the back, 16MP front snapper, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, 8GB RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery with Warp fast charging tech.

Both the models are said to support 65W wired fast charging. This means the devices will be able to fully charge up from zero to 100% in around 30 minutes. Also, the company said, they will also support 50W wireless charging. With this, the devices can fully charge up in around 43 minutes.

The third model OnePlus 9R is said to be an exclusive variant for the price-conscious Indian market. It is expected to come with a 6.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 CPU, 8GB RAM, a 64MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging.

All three phones will run Android 11-based OxygenOS in global regions including the US, Europe and India. However, the ones sold in China will have ColorOS, the same operating system we see in Oppo phones.

The prices of the OnePlus 9 series is already leaked online. As per the tipster Abhishek Yadav, OnePlus 9 Pro will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 64,999 and Rs 69,999, respectively. It will come in three colours-- stellar black, morning mist, and pine green.

Even OnePlus 9 will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 49,999 and Rs 54,999, respectively. It will come in three colours-- winter mist, astral black, and artic sky.

On the other hand, OnePlus 9R will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999, respectively. It will come in two colours-- carbon black, and lake blue.

OnePlus Watch
As per the official teaser, the new OnePlus Watch is confirmed to flaunt classical circular dial design language.

It is said to feature an AMOLED display and come with the IP68 rating, meaning the wearable can sustain underwater pressure close to 1.5 metres (around five feet) for up to 30 minutes.

Inside, it is said to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear chipset, most probably 4000 series. It will run the company's proprietary Real-Time Operating System (RTOS). It will be able to seamlessly control OnePlus smart TVs and other accessories.

Also, it will come with biometric sensors including a 24/7 heart rate monitor and SpO2 (Blood-Oxygen saturation level), sleep pattern tracker, and more. It also said to offer a long battery life of several days.

Word on the street is that the OnePlus Watch is expected to cost €150 (around Rs 12,948) in Europe.
