Atwal fires superb 64 to rise to 31st spot

Indian golfer Arjun Atwal sparkled with a flawless eight-under 64 at the Nicklaus Tournament Course for a share of the 31st spot after the second round of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in La Qunita, California.

Atwal vaulted from a lowly 150th to tied 31st at six-under 138 at the end of the second round of the gruelling six-round qualifiers.

Jeev tied 19th

Jeev Milkha Singh added a second successive one-over 71 to be two-over 142 at tied 19th at the midway stage of the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup in Tokyo on Friday.

Hiroyuki Fujita looked set to win the tournament for a third successive time.  Fujita, who opened with a 61, shot 66 in the second round to move to 13-under, five shots ahead of American Han Lee (70, 62).
