In a completely lop-sided contest, Sappers dominated proceedings from beginning to end to outplay the Railmen at the Bangalore Football stadium.

The Sappers took the lead as early as in the third minute through Ramu.

Encouraged by the early lead, MEG kept thrusting forward but failed to find the net as they took a 1-0 lead with them to half time.

Twelve minutes upon resumption, the Sappers doubled their advantage when Amar fired home. Ajiraj then wrapped up a great day for them with a goal five minutes from time.
In the day’s other match, CIL outplayed newly promoted Dharmaraja Union 2-0.

CIL, who lost narrowly to defending champions Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Clubs 0-1 on Thursday, cashed in on their chance to play against the newcomers, consigning DU to a second straight loss.

Enjoying the better share of possession, CIL took the lead when Ashok fired home in the 32nd minute, and Amarnath rounded off the scoring in the 67th minute.

Results: MEG: 3 (Ramu 3rd, Amar 57th, Ajiraj 85th) bt RWF: 0; CIL: 2 (Ashok 32nd, Amarnath 67th) bt Dharmaraja Union.
