Polgar enters last eight

Judit’s results in the Cup has been inspirational right from the first round and Dominguez was on Thursday added to the list of casualties following the ouster of Sergei Movsesian of Armenia and top seed Sergey Karjakin of Ukraine in earlier rounds.

The rapid tiebreaker was fought on an even keel with Judit taking the lead in the first game with a clean show and then Dominguez won the next.

This set the stage for the semi-rapid games where again both shared a victory each reaching the blitz tiebreak in which Judit drew the first game with white and then won with black.
