Simran sets up title clash with Rishika

Young Simran Kaur Sethi produced a commendable performance to knock out last tournament's finalist Natasha Palha 6-4, 6-4 and enter the final of the GAIL $10,000 ITF women's tournament at the DLTA complex here on Friday.

It will be a maiden ITF women's final appearance for Delhi girl Simran, who is will turning 16 next month and is playing in only her second  senior tournament.

She will be up against State-mate Rishika Sunkara, who dispatched Hong Kong's Hu Ching Wu 6-1, 6-4 to ensure an all-Indian final.

In the doubles final, Rushmi Chakravarthi and Ankita Raina outplayed S Peddi Reddy and Prarthana Thombare 6-3, 6-2 for their second title in three weeks at the same venue.

Results: Singles, semifinals: Simran Kaur Sethi bt Natasha Palha 6-4, 6-4; Rishika Sunkara bt Hu Ching Wu 6-1, 6-4.

Doubles, final: Rushmi Chakravarthi/ Ankita Raina bt S Peddi Reddy/ Prarthana Thombare 6-3, 6-2.
