150 seats okayed for Koppal med college

Kims incharge director Dattatreya Bunt on Tuesday expressed happiness after the Medical Council of India (MCI) approved admission of 150 students to the Koppal medical college.

It has been four years now since the college was started.

The approval of admission comes after efforts by the state government and the administrative board of the college to get approval. Bunt said they had to even approach the Supreme Court in this regard.

As many as 21 of the total 22 facilities suggested by the MCI had been created, he said. The college had faced the threat of closure, if the seats were not approved. Students from the region will have 85% seats reserved for them.
