2 youths burn minor girl to death

A minor girl is said to have been set afire by pouring kerosene on her by two youths at Ratnapur village of Tikota taluk in the district.

According to the parents of the girl, the two youths had been harassing the girl to love them. They were scared when they learnt that the girl had disclosed the harassment meted out to her, to her parents. The two youths, wanting to hush up the matter, poured kerosene on the girl and set her on fire on Sunday when she was alone in the house.

But according to the police, the girl died after attempting suicide, wary of the continuous teasing and harassment by the two youths.

The police have arrested the two youths, identified as Shankar Hipparakar and Mohan Yedawe. Further investigation is on.
