Bjp president Amit Shah will address the final rally of the Navakarnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra in Mysuru on Thursday.

This will be Amit Shah's third address at the yatra after the inaugural one in Bengaluru on November 2 and later, at Holalkere in Chitradurga district. The yatra has travelled to most of the 224 Assembly constituencies in the state as part of the party's pre-election campaign.

The party has strategically chosen Mysuru, the home turf of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for the conclusion of the yatra. Shah is expected to take Siddaramaiah head-on at the rally, scheduled to start at 2 pm at Maharaja's   College Grounds.

The convention will also happen on a day when several pro-Kannada organisations and farmers' groups have given a statewide bandh call, seeking resolution of the Mahadayi water dispute.

CM tweets

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Siddaramaiah took potshots at the yatra and the BJP.

"People know how I entered politics. If they (BJP) tell lies about me at the yatra, will people believe? It is the truth of our work that allows me to face people and seek their blessings," a tweet said.

In another post on Twitter, Siddarmaiah said, "BJP has no candidates in Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru Rural, Hassan, Kolar. To meet political ends, they are indulging in misinformation campaign against me in the name of yatra."
