Belgaum ex-APMC chief hacked to death

Parashuram (45) was hacked to death by his step brother Ashok Kurangi and another step brother's son Indrajit Kurangi and two others as he was having lunch in his house. The murder was the fall out of a dispute over three acres of land on the outskirts of Belgaum city.

Ashok and Indrajit, along with two others, on Thursday afternoon entered Parashuram’s house in Azam Nagar and attacked him with swords and threw chilly powder in his eyes, even as victim's wife tried to save him.

As the profusely-bleeding Parashuram was being shifted from the house to hospital, his assailants picked up a boulder and hit the victim again, according to eyewitnesses.

Parashuram died on his way to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
APMC police have taken up a case and arrested Ashok and Indrajit.
