A police inspector attached to Cowl Bazaar police station was trapped by Lokayukta sleuths while he was allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 at his house on Tuesday.
A police constable’s son reportedly assaulted a man over a month ago. Two friends of the victim threatened the constable’s son in turn, which led to a complaint against them.
Police inspector Y D Agasimani summoned the two men — K Kiran Kumar and Somashekhara Naidu, and demanded a bribe for not booking cases against them.
Kumar and Naidu filed a complaint with the Lokayukta police.
