BJP nominee dares D K Shivakumar to prove charges

I will quit politics if Minister D K Shivakumar proves his charge that my son Manjunath, Excise Joint Commissioner, is extorting money from wine shops to fund my election, said Y Devendrappa, BJP nominee from Bellary Lok Sabha constituency.

He told this to reporters when asked about Shivakumar’s charges during his campaign at Shirabi village on Sunday. Devendrappa, a relative of Congress legislator Ramesh Jarkiholi, said that the coalition government in the state will fall after Lok Sabha elections.

On a query on whether his wife Susheelamma, a Congress ZP member, would join the BJP, he said, “Ask this question to her. How can I say?”
