Centre for architecture to come up in Belur

The Kannada and Culture Department is planning to set up a new centre for Vishwakarma community at Belur (Hassan district) to develop architecture at Belur, said Kannada and Culture Minister Jayamala.

Speaking at the Vishwakarma Jayanthi programme here on Monday, the minister said that the new centre will facilitate development of new structures similar to architecture in Belur. She also said that 13-acre land has also been identified for this purpose.

Minister C Puttarangashetty, who was also present in the programme said that the Backward Classes Welfare department has allotted huge funds for the welfare of Vishwakarma community.
