Coalition will win huge seats, says HDK

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has expressed confidence that Congress-JD(S) coalition will win highest seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the chief minister said that his allies help in to formulate programmes for the welfare of the state and if Prime Minister Narendra Modi thinks that it amounts to remote control, he cannot help it. He was reacting to Modi’s ‘remote control CM’ remark at Kalaburagi rally on Wednesday.

Kumaraswamy and his family was in Sringeri to offcer special prayers at Sri Sharadamba temple and to take part in conclusion of ‘Chandika Yaga’, on Thursday.

“The prime minister stated in Uttar Pradesh that waiving farmers’ loans is a sinful act. People have been observing and they will decide in the days to come”, Kumaraswamy said. He said he was not worried about the ‘Nikhil Go back’ campaign started by some people on social media.

MLA Anita Kumaraswamy said that the people of Mandya want Nikhil Kumaraswamy to contest Lok Sabha elections. However, she refused to make any comment on ‘Go back Nikhil’ campaign.

Speaking to reporters, Nikhil Kumaraswamy said that it was the wish of the party workers that he should enter the fray from Mandya. “I am committed to serve the people of Mandya,” he added.

JD(S) supremo H D Devegowda and his wife Chennamma were also present. Later, the family met the Sringeri Mutt pontiffs Bharatitheertha Swami and Vidhushekharabharathi Swami.
