He was speaking to the mediapersons on Monday after he returned from Delhi where he had gone to greet Veerappa Moily.
The ministerial post will be useful in fulfiling the promises made to the people by Moily during his campaigning, he added.
IIT for state
Moily has promised to allot an IIT to the State within six months of he getting the portfolio, expressed Ramesh who said that former chief minister had plans to set up industries to solve the unemployment problem in the region.
He has also promised to implement permanent irrigation scheme within next five years, Ramesh said. Manchanabele Youth leader M S Sridhar was also present on the occasion.
