Heavy rain continued to lash Sringeri and NR Pura on Sunday.

Kerekatte has received the highest of 115 mm followed by Kigga—106.2 mm and Sringeri—83 mm rainfall.

The River Thunga is overflowing and all the residents at Gandhi Maidan have been evacuated. Even parking of vehicles on Gandhi Maidan has been banned.

The Keremane-Kikre road is marooned and movement of vehicles have been disrupted. The Kappeshankara Temple in Sringeri is inundated.

Narasimharajapura and Mudigere too experienced good rainfall.

Control room

Sringeri Tahsildar Narayana Reddy said that round-the-clock control room service has been opened at the Sringeri taluk office.

A team with the village accountants and PDOs has been constituted to respond to rain victims.
