Hostel inmates stage snap stir in Kolar

“Our hostels do not have the basic infrastructure. Students who questioned the poor quality of food were beaten up by a relative of the supervisor. Inmates of the hostel do not have any security. There is neither sanitation in the hostel,” they alleged.

Fear psychosis
The students also claimed that the hostels were in bad shape, and there was a fear psychosis among inmates. “That is why we have suddenly come out of the hostel, with our possessions. We will not go back to the hostel until alternate arrangements are made. We will make some other arrangements till the matter is looked into,” they said.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer G V Rangarao, Deputy Director of Public Instructions and district Social Welfare Officer Prahlad Gowda, spoke to the hostel inmates on dharna.

The officers assured the students that alternate arrangements would be made within a week.

Students Federation of India  district General Secretary Ambareesh led the protest.
It is learnt that police complaints have been filed against those who assaulted the students.
