Milk buyers to get Trupti milk free

The DKMUL will offer 180 ml of Trupti milk free of cost for the purchase of every 500 ml and 1-litre milk in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada from July 12.

Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, DKMUL president Raviraj Hegde said that milk collection has increased. Trupti milk worth Rs 62 lakh would be distributed free of cost.

Trupti milk comes in flexi packs and has a shelf life of 90 days without refrigeration.

Arrangements have been made to supply milk to every household. Free Trupti milk will be supplied to every distributor. Teams have been constituted to ensure that the scheme is not misused.

He said that Nandini milk has no adulteration and is a good food for all, irrespective of age.

He said that the unit of DKMUL constructed at Uppuru at a cost of Rs 100 crore with a capacity for 2.50 lakh litres is getting ready. The unit is likely to be inaugurated by year-end.
