After a gap of several months, Lokayukta police in Mysore have got a new SP. Senior police officer Jagadish Prasad has been posted as SP of Lokayukta, Mysore division.
He was earlier Dy SP at Tumkur and promoted to the rank of SP and transferred to Mysore. He is expected to assume charge on September 3, according to the intimation that reached the office here on Thursday.
Sources said, Jagadish Prasad has earlier served as the inspector of Lokayukta in Mysore, besides Saraswatipuram and other police stations in the city. He has also served in COD (now CID) in Bangalore.
The post of SP had fallen vacant after the demise of S E D’Souza. The officer had died of heart attack while taking rest at the room in the first floor of the office on Dewan’s road. Dy SP Jayaram had been entrusted with the additional task. He was recently promoted and transferred as SP to Gulbarga.
