The district development committee has urged the Kerala state government to take measures to repair the pothole-filled NH 66 from Manjeshwar to Kalikadavu in Kasargod district.

In a meeting, MP Karunakaran said that the surface of the road has been chipped off, causing inconvenience to the vehicle users. He said that a meeting of MLAs of the district has been convened on August 4 to discuss on the need to urge the government to repair the stretch.

He directed the officials to set right disruption in power supply in the district. The Kerala State Electricity Board officials were asked to submit a detailed report on the problems in power supply in Kasargod.

It was also decided at the meeting to submit a comprehensive report on the development of roads under the Pradhan Manthri Grameena Road and the MLA special package.

New CCTV cameras will be installed on strategic locations along the highway, as the installed CCTV cameras have become defunct.

The MP said that encroachment of the roads will be cleared. About 7,430 complaints on re-survey of the land will be cleared in the second week of August.
