JOIN USThe Congress and JD(S) leaders from the district should impress upon Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to release additional grants to Chikkamagaluru district, MLA C T Ravi said.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, he said that the government has done injustice to the district in the budget. “We had appealed to the chief minister to earmark funds for the work on government engineering college, medical college, dairy unit, irrigation project and pepper park. But these demands have not been considered in the budget,” he charged.
Ravi said Malnad region has received 15 to 20 inches of rainfall this year. All the roads, bridges and crops have been damaged. The chief minister should announce a special package to take up the repair work, he demanded.
He alleged that the chief minister has discriminated in development works. The JD(S) and Congress leaders should urge the chief minister to release the funds, he urged.
He said that a delegation will be taken to DGP to urge the police to accelerate probe into the death of BJP leader Anwar.
