Start Sainik School in Kudremukh: Minister

It will teach a lesson to the growing Naxal activities in Malnad

District-in-Charge Minister D N Jeevraj alleged that the Centre has failed to initiate stringent action against those who have been attacking the country.

Lakhs of rupees is spent on interrogation of Kasab and Afzal Guru.

It is nothing but lack of will power.

Speaking at a district-level convention of ex-servicemen, at Kuvempu Kala mandira in Chikmagalur on Sunday, he said “the government has been soft on the terrorists who are engaged in disturbing peace in the country. The attitude of the government will reduce the self-confidence of the soliders.” 

He said that with the available resources, Sainik School should be started in Kudremukh. The Sainik School will also give an answer to the growing Naxal activities in Malnad. The MP should look into the issue.”

Higher Education Minister C T Ravi said “the soldiers have been trying to save the country from the external attacks. If the country had taken action against the infiltrators from the beginning, then we would not have faced the problem of terrorism and encroachment of the border areas,” he added. 

“If our politicians had shown the will power, we could have solved Kashmir problem forever,” he said.

“We had wonderful opportunity during 1971 war. We could have solved the Kashmir problem. Instead of solving the Kashmir row, they released the Pakistan soliders,” he said.

MP Jayaprakash Hegde promised to make an effort to start Sainik School in the district.
General Officer Commanding (Karnataka and Kerala Sub-Area) Major General KS Venugopal said that “there is great respect for the stars on the shoulder of the soliders. We are committed to solve the problems faced by the ex servicemen.”

KPCC Vice-President B L Shankar said that ex servicemen should enter politics, to give discipline to the political sector.

Ex servicemen Association district president Basavaraju submitted a memorandum to the Minister urging to set up rehabilitation centre for the ex-servicemen in the district.

CMC President C R Premkumar, Taluk Panchayat President Manjunath, Additional DC K P Honakeri and others were present.
