Three die in separate mishaps in Mysuru

Three persons were killed in the City limits on Sunday, in three separate mishaps. In the first incident, Samsheer, 19, from Suntikoppa in Kodagu district, a first year B Com student, drowned in Kamanakerehundi lake under Narasimha Raja Police limits. He was a student of a private college in Saraswathipuram and was residing in a Muslim community hostel.

Samsheer had left the hostel at 12.30 pm for swimming, along with his friends Shafi, P M Riyaz, Shoiab and Riyaz, police said. While playing in the lake, Samsheer got separated from the group and drowned, even as his friends made an attempt to rescue him, they added. Police retrieved the body of Samsheer on Monday morning.

In the second incident, an Indian Railways employee allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at his residence in Bannimantap, on Sunday.

Dwarakanath, 50, went to his room to sleep after having dinner with his family members on Sunday night. The suicide came to light on Monday morning, when he did not open the door of the room. The reason for the death is yet to be ascertained. Narasimha Raja Police have registered a case.

In the third incident, a two-wheeler rider was killed in an accident on Ring Road at Dattagalli, on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Manju (25). He was bound for his house in Shankarlingegowda Layout in Ramabai Nagar after attending a function. When he reached Dattagalli, Manju lost control over his two-wheeler and fell from it.

Manju sustained severs injuries on his head and died while he was being rushed to a hospital, said Kuvempunagar Traffic Police.
