Ex- Molkalmuru legislator Thippeswamy joins Congress

Former MLA from Molkalmuru S Thippeswamy joined the Congress in Bengaluru on Friday in the presence of KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Thippeswamy had won from the constituency on a BSR Congress ticket in the 2013 Assembly polls. BSR Congress founder B Sriramulu later joined the BJP and was given a ticket to contest from Molkalmuru in the Assembly polls last year much to the chagrin of Thippeswamy. He contested unsuccessfully against Sriramulu as an independent. Rao said Thippeswamy’s decision to join the party will help Congress win Chitradurga constituency with a high margin in the Lok Sabha polls.
