Four teenagers drown in Savagoan lake

Four teenagers who had ventured into a lake for a swim in Savagoan village in Belagavi taluk drowned on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Sahil Yuvraj Benke (15) Benkanhalli, Chaitanya Bhandurge (16) of Bhagya Nagar, Aman Singh (14) of Ganeshpur and Gautam Kalghatgi (15) of Shahapur.

All the four were friends and studying in Class X. All of them had been to the lake for a swim as it was a holiday for schools.

The incident came to light after local people noticed two-wheelers and clothes on the bank of the lake and informed the police.

The local police rushed to the spot along with fire and emergency personnel. The bodies were traced after a search.

The Belagavi Rural police have registered a case of unnatural deaths.
