The state government will launch a farmer outreach programme called ‘Raithara Maneyalli Rajya Sarkara’ next month, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Thursday.

Kumaraswamy and his Cabinet colleagues will visit one village in each district and interact with farmers.

This announcement came after Kumaraswamy chaired the first meeting of the state-level farmers’ advisory committee, a 60-member group that comprises two farmers from every district.

“The outreach will help create awareness to bring changes in the farming practices,” Kumaraswamy told reporters. He also said that officials had been directed to address views expressed by farmers at the meeting, which included supply of quality of seeds, good storage facilities and so on.
