Last Updated 23 April 2018, 19:19 IST

The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has mandated internal guides of students to make visits to the workplaces assigned to students to monitor them during the internship period.

The VTU had recently issued a circular making it mandatory for students to take up internships to be eligible to obtain their under-graduation certificates. Out of the 50 marks assigned for internship, students must get a minimum of 50%.

Prof Jagannath Reddy, Registrar, VTU said, “We have framed guidelines for compulsory internship programme for BE and BTech courses. To keep track of the students’ activities at the industry during the internship, we have directed internal guides who are also the faculties of the university, to visit the industry where the student is doing internship and co-ordinate with the industry authorities,” he said.
