Heavy rain continued to lash Raichur town and parts of the district. Downpour on Saturday afternoon threw normal life out of gear in the town.

The showers left the roads in the town under 3 feet of water, causing grave inconvenience to the motorists and the pedestrians.

Roads in Nijalingappa Colony, Siyatalab, LBS Nagar, Haji Colony, Mochiwada and Harijanwada resembled canals. The UGD works across the town have only worsened the situation. Many houses in the low-laying areas were inundated with rainwater.

Parts of Lingasugur, including Mudgal, Maski, Hatti and Gurgunta, experienced heavy rain on Friday night. The incessant rain in the last one week has turned the rural roads in the taluk into paddy fields.

Huda in Sindhanur taluk recorded 87.8mm on Saturday, highest rain in the district.
The unrelenting showers have left the farmers in the district worried. They fear losing ready-for-harvest crop due to wet weather. If showers continue for next few days, the crop will rot, rue aggrieved farmers of Lingasugur taluk.

Agriculture, Joint Director, Kirankumar told DH, "The district has received heavy rainfall. If rain relents for a week, the farmers can harvest crops. We cannot even assess damage caused to jowar, tur, sunflower and cotton by the showers as it is still raining. We will conduct a survey once the rain stops."

Moderate to heavy showers lashed Guledgudda town and parts of the taluk in Bagalokot district on Friday night. Streams and rivulets overflowed affecting traffic movement at several villages.

Sudden downpour pounded Kukanur in Koppal district. A portion of road near a bridge over a stream at Shirur village was washed away in the overnight rain.

Parts of Hassan and Chamarajanagar districts received good rains on Saturday.

Due to heavy rains, a bridge over the Hemavathi canal, connecting Ibbadi and Ajjur villages, has been damaged in Arkalgud taluk. The bridge was constructed a few days back. A wall of a house has collapsed in the village.

Heavy rains lashed Chamarajanagar town and neighbouring villages on Saturday afternoon.
