High Court adjourns TTD guest house case

Last Updated 16 August 2009, 17:23 IST

The State Government guest house at Tirupathi was leased out to Hari International for house keeping in January 2007, and the same was cancelled in June 2007 as it violated the TTD agreement, which mentions that the property cannot be subleased.

However, the contractors approached the Court and obtained a stay on the cancellation, and got possession of the guest house. Following this, devotees from the State were denied facilities by the agency manning the guest house, even though they were paid for it here. An interlocutory application was then filed by former MLA and city-based advocate K N Subbareddy, who sought to vacate the stay granted by the High Court in 2007. Justice N Kumar has adjourned the case, stating that it will be heard by a regular bench.

EWS quarters case

The petition related to the construction of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quarters was dismissed by the Court for non-prosecution. The tender had been awarded to Maverick Builders. The matter was dismissed by the High Court after the petitioners failed to turn up for the hearing.
