<p>JD(S) MLC Basavaraj Horatti has opposed the state government’s move to appoint Dr S C Sharma as chairman of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Dharwad.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the former minister for Primary and Secondary Education opposed the appointment of Sharma, who was once vice chancellor of Tumkur University. <br /><br />“There are several allegations of corruption against him. Appointing him to the top post at the IIIT will ruin the institute,” Horatti said. <br /></p>
