Horatti opposes Sharma as head of IIIT-Dharwad

JD(S) MLC Basavaraj Horatti has opposed the state government’s move to appoint Dr S C Sharma as chairman of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Dharwad.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the former minister for Primary and Secondary Education opposed the appointment of Sharma, who was once vice chancellor of Tumkur University.

“There are several allegations of corruption against him. Appointing him to the top post at the IIIT will ruin the institute,” Horatti said.
