‘I underwent sex change surgery voluntarily’

The controversy over the sex change surgery has taken a new turn with a KR Pet boy claiming that he went under the knife voluntarily.

The boy went missing from his grandmother’s house two days ago and was found with transgenders on Thursday. Speaking to reporters, the boy said he underwent the surgery out of his volition and no one forced him into it. However, the boy alleged police harassment.

“I was behaving like a girl right from young age and preferred to be with the girls. I had explained my trauma to my teachers and my aunt as I have no mother. I was wearing women’s clothes during the night. After finding a job in Bengaluru, I befriended transgenders and expressed my wish to turn into a transgender. However, they were against it. But, I heard them speaking about a hospital in Bengaluru and got the details on the Internet. I worked for more than a year to earn money for the medical expenses and underwent the surgery,” he said.

“I will stay in Mandya. Please respect my emotions. Allow me to live as I wish. As I have no mother, I have the responsibility of my sister’s marriage. I have to take care of my father and grandmother. Though I am a transgender I will look after them,” he added.
