BJP leader K S Eshwarappa on Saturday said that Public Works Minister H D Revanna had insulted the entire womenfolk with his insensitive remark on Sumalatha Ambareesh and that if he refuse to apologise, the JD(S) should remove the picture of a woman from the party symbol.

“People of the state are feeling bad about the comment made by Revanna on Sumalatha. If Revanna fails to apologise, Deve Gowda will lose the eligibility to use a picture of farmer woman carrying haystack on his party symbol,” Eshwarappa told reporters here.

“JD(S) has been reduced to a family party. Deve Gowda is not a Vokkaliga leader anymore. If he had 28 children, Gowda would have fielded all from as many constituencies (Lok Sabha). Even if the JD(S) supremo had 14 sons, he would have fielded his sons and daughters-in-law from all 28 seats in the state,” he sarcastically noted.

Replying to a query on Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah’s tilak comment, Eshwarappa said, “Siddaramaiah is utterly disappointed after his defeat in Chamundeshwari Assembly seat. These days he is seeing the BJP in tilak, saree and bangles. Even Kanakadasa and Sangolli Rayanna used to sport kumkum on their forehead. Siddaramaiah has insulted Kanaka and Rayanna by saying that he is afraid of those who sport tilak or kumkum.”
