Owing to the lack of co-operation from hotel owners, shop owners, it could not be implemented. Moreover, plastic has become intergral part of everybody’s life. As a result, CMC found it difficult to implement the ban on the use of plastic.

To create an awareness on the ill affects of the use of plastic and on the ban on plastic, CMC will hold a jatha on Monday.  A visit to KSRTC bus stand, Abbey falls, Raja Seat, one will find the amount of pollution in the city.

A heap of plastics are found in drains. Moreover, Madikeri is filled with plastic bottles, plastic covers. As a result, there is fear among people that the beautiful city will be turned to plastic city. If the awareness is created among tourists on the ban on plastic, then it will be easy for the CMC to maintain cleanliness.

Moreover, before implementing the ban on the use of plastic, CMC should take hotel owners and shopkeepers into confidence. Without the co-operation of the people, law can not be implemented.

On the one hand, the greenery in the city is giving way for concrete jungles, on the other hand, plastics are being dumped haphazardly in and around the city. To avoid the environment pollution, the citizens must co-operate with the CMC, they appeal.
