The police have detained the members of the district unit of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) while they were staging a protest by tying black badge around their mouth at Tin Kandil Circle in the city on Saturday.
They were staging the protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, a rise in prices of essential commodities and unemployment by holding placards.
The police, who arrived at the spot within a few minutes, arrested the agitators.
