The responsibility of keeping the rural sports alive is on the shoulders of youth, said Mudigere MLA B B Ningaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district-level kabaddi tournament organised by Indian Human Rights Protection Forum at Subhash Chandra Bose district playground in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday.

Youth have ample opportunities in various fields these days, provided they achieve excellence with consistent efforts. Youth should not only stand for the culture of the
nation but also should come forward to fight for the voiceless.

They should utilise the power of unity for creating awareness, the MLA said.

Indian Human Rights Protection Forum state president H Kodandarama said the forum is creating district committees to look into the issues of human rights violations. Those who have been subject to atrocity may approach the organisation, he said.
