JOIN USOn the eve of “Wildlife Week 2012” celebrations, Dr Shivram Karanth Pilikula Biological Park had organised wildlife photography competition for photographers, drawing and quiz competitions for the students from LKG, UKG, first standard, 2nd to 4th, 5th to 7th and 8th to 10th standard in 4 categories at the Park premises on Sunday.
The theme of the competition was ‘Nature and wildlife.’ As many as 128 students from different schools and 16 photographers participated in the competitions. NITTE Engineering College also had organised treasure hunt competition for students on same day in the park.
In the valedictory session, Executive Director of Pilikula Nisargadhama S Ajithkumar Hegde distributed the prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the use of modern technology, electronic gadgets are dragging the young generation far from the environment. The parents and teachers should create awareness among the younger generation on the need to conserve environment.
