JOIN USMadhu Bangarappa, the nominee of coalition partners, would file nomination papers for Lok Sabha election to Shivamogga constituency around 2:00 pm in the city on Wednesday.
He would arrive at deputy commissioner's office in a rally that would begin from Ramanna Sresty park around 11:00 am. The rally would culminate at deputy commissioner's office after passing through Gandhi Bazar, Amir Ahmed circle, Nehru road, Gopi circle and Mahavir circle.
Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar, who is in charge of election campaign in the constituency, former minister Kagodu Thimmappa, State JD (S) unit President H Vishwanath, District Congress Committee President H S Sundaresh, District JD (S) Unit president R M Manjunath Gowda and other local leaders are expected to participate in the rally. The leaders are expected to address the workers of both Congress and JD(S) in convention slated to be held at Gopi circle.
It may be mentioned here that the sitting MP B Y Raghavendra filed nomination papers as BJP candidate from Shivamogga constituency last month. A keen contest is on between the sons of two former chief ministers.
