Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, he said the Centre could consider a plea for declaring a particular area as a separate state only if the recommendation comes from the State concerned. Karnataka government would never support such a demand.

He was reacting to the reports that the Union Home Ministry had received pleas from different parts of the country for creation of 10 states including Kodagu in Karnataka.

The CM said after the Unification of Karnataka, Kodagu had been integral part of the State and people in the district had identified with the Karnataka for decades. His government would never allow its separation.
