JOIN USTo protect animals and birds from dehydration and possible death during summer, Koila Gram panchayat had constructed cement tanks along the stretch in Golithadi and on Enithadka-Kudalooru Road.
The cement tanks were constructed on Enithadka-Kudalooru Road two years ago. The tanks are proving to be extremely beneficial to cattle and birds during this summer. The cows that are left for grazing, peacocks, a variety of birds and other small animals are using water in the container to quench their thirst.
Gram Panchayat President Hema Mohandas Shetty said, “The tanks were constructed two years ago and are proving useful to animals and birds this year. The construction of water tanks did not go waste and I am satisfied with it.”
The staff from gram panchayat ensure that tanks are replenished with fresh water from time to time. Many birds and animals from the cashew plantations use these tanks. In addition, the labourers, who walk on the Kudalooru -Enithadka road, too use the water in container to wash their legs and face.
