Hunter from Kerala shot dead

A man was killed during a clash between two groups of poachers who have been allegedly carrying out hunting at Mundrodu forest area in Bhagamandala limits in Madikeri on Wednesday.

George (52), a resident of Taliparambu Minankeri, is the deceased. He was allegedly a member of one of the groups of poachers.

Two groups had reportedly been to the forest for hunting on Tuesday night. When they accidentally met inside the forest area, there was an exchange of words between them. A member in the rival group opened fire on George, who died on spot, according to the police.

A case has been registered in Bhagamandala police station.
