Mysore varsity gets Rs 100 crore

The action plan submitted by the varsity to get the amount in three phases has been approved by the Central government and the money would be released in a short while, according to University of Mysore Vice Chancellor Prof V G Talwar.
Disclosing this at a press meet held in the City on Wednesday, Prof Talwar said, the proposal consisting of action plans had been forwarded to the Central government as per the recommendations of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission.
As per the plan, Rs 50.37 crore would be spent on various works in the field of bio-diversity, bio-prospecting and sustainable development, while the remaining Rs 49.63 crore will be utilised to strengthen the existing faculty wing and improve basic infrastructure facilities.
