Last Updated 27 April 2018, 10:43 IST

S K Ahalya, director of the Hubballi airport stated on Friday that there was no technical glitch with the aircraft that brought AICC President Rahul Gandhi took to Hubballi for poll campaign on Thursday.

It maybe recalled that on Thursday, Kaushal Vidyarthi who also traveled with Rahul Gandhi from Delhi to Hubballi, has lodged a complaint with the police, expressing doubt about aviation safety and possible intentional tampering with the aircraft, in the background of multiple unexplained technical snags during the flight.

"The flight (VT-AVH) took off from Delhi at around 9:20 am, and it was scheduled to land in Hubballi at 11:45 am. At around 10:45 am, the aircraft suddenly tilted heavily on the left side, altitude dipped steeply, combined with violent shuddering of the aircraft, while a clanking noise was also audible," Kaushal said in the complaint.

Speaking to reporters at the airport Ahalya asserted that the flight had landed on time.

"We get information even if there is a small problem with the landing of a flight. But on Thursday neither the air traffic control (ATC) or the pilot gave no such information. The aircraft did not go out of the radar's reach at any time. We don't know how the confusion was created. One must ask the complainant," she added.
