Notorious rowdy sheeter Akashbhavan Sharan held

Notorious rowdy sheeter Akashbhavan Sharan who was absconding after sexually assaulting a minor was arrested by CCB police on Thursday. Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil tweeted the arrest of Sharan and confirmed that as many as 18 heinous cases including murder, extortion was pending against him.

Akashbhavan Sharan was a member of Hindu Jagarana Vedike before he shot to notoriety. He was removed from the outfit after being accused in a robbery case in the city. He was the prime accused in the Bejai Raja murder case. He is also accused of plotting the murder of Pradeep Mendon, Sullia based KVG Institutions Manager Dr Ramakrishna among others.

A few of Sharan’s accomplices had been arrested for vandalising Hotel Paradise in Kadri after the owner refused to pay the protection money. In January this year, Sharan had sexually assaulted a minor who had come to him in order to learn the Tiger dance. No sooner a case was registered against him under POCSO act in Women’s police station in January this year, he went into hiding police sources said.
