Palimaru seer set to induct junior

Paryaya Palimaru Mutt pontiff Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada will induct Shailesh Upadhyaya, aged 20 years, as his junior.

Speaking to media persons, the seer said that he is all set to perform the rituals of ordaining the disciple during his current tenure as the Paryaya seer. Shailesh is a student of the Palimaru mutt’s Sriyogadeepika Vidya Mutt now. The rituals of ‘Sanyasa Deekshe’, the initiation into monkhood, will be held from May 9 to 12.

Vidyadheesha Theertha, 63, feels that a disciple is needed to run the mutt’s administration and hence, a junior is being inducted into the mutt’s tradition.

Shailesh has studied up to Class 10 and is studying Tharka, Veda and Vyakarana and has come forward to embrace the monkhood voluntarily, the seer said.

After initiation into monkhood, he will pursue Vedanta, Shastra and Puja rituals under the Paryaya Palimaru seer.
