AAP to release its manifesto tomorrow

The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will release election manifestos for each of the 224 Assembly constituencies. The party’s election manifesto for the whole of Karnataka is slated to be released on May 7, AAP spokesperson Shivakumar Chengalaraya said.

The party has already released manifestos for Kittur (Belagavi), Hubli-Dharwad (Central), KR Puram and Shantinagar (Bengaluru) constituencies.

“No party has taken this micro-level approach in preparing manifestos,” Chengalaraya said. For example, he said, the Shantinagar manifesto lays out the party’s vision for each of the seven wards in the constituency.

CM’s caste politics will spell Cong’s doom: Ashoka

BJP leader R Ashoka on Saturday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of indulging in caste and communal politics and warned that his move could prove detrimental to the Congress in the elections.

Participating in an interaction with reporters, he said the Congress would become extinct in Karnataka after the polls because of Siddaramaiah. “The countdown for this has begun. His government has failed on all fronts. Both the chief minister and his government were in deep slumber for the past four and a half years,” Ashoka added.

The ruling Congress woke up from sleep six months ago and started making tall claims about its achievements, which are nothing but a bundle of lies. However, people can see through their gimmick and will teach the party a lesson in the elections, he said.

Ashoka claimed that the BJP was poised to come to power on its own strengths. Hence, Congress leaders had become desperate and were making baseless accusations against the BJP. People are eager to vote the Congress government out, he added.
